An extract from ‘Making Movements’

An idea, regardless of its origins or motivation, is only the beginning of the story. It is the seed that if fostered leads to its realisation. Without actions, it has no value, with actions and no clear vision it will never be fully realised.

The technology that surrounds us makes everything possible to realise in a way which is more precise, efficient and faster than ever before. But, without the person and the idea, there would be nothing. AI may eventually be able to think, algorithms find solutions but watchmaking at its core is about the people that both have the ideas and execute them. In a process which results in a product that nobody needs since the advent of quartz and mobile smart technology, but which is part of what makes us human. Which is why, for as long as we are here, watchmaking will be too.
